Everyone is welcome!

Hillwood Clean-up Day

Sunday October 15 2017

Hillwood has a Clean-Up Day every year in spring, when we tackle litter and the spread of bone-seed plants in one go. Everyone is welcome to help and it is very rewarding. To join in, you just turn up at the Hillwood War Memorial Hall at 9:30 and nominate which area you would like to clean up (e.g. you might like to do the road you live in). At lunch time there is a sausage sizzle at the Hillwood Pontoon Reserve. At this stage, we are not sure if gloves will be issued so you might like to bring your own (and a sun-hat!). Also, bring coins to lunch to buy your sausage ($1.50, includes bread, onions, sauce) and soft drinks ($1.50). Hope to see you there!

Hillwood ANZAC Day Dawn Service

The Hillwood ANZAC Day Dawn Service is held each year at 6am on ANZAC Day at the Hillwood Fire Station, with breakfast held afterwards at Hillwood War Memorial Hall.  The event is organised by a sub-committee of the Hillwood Progress Association.

The ANZAC Day Service is led by Ian Wheeler and is sometimes attended by a local choir.  Anyone who would like to lay a wreath for family or for a group is invited to do so.  Just register with the appropriate person on the day.  Also if anyone has any memorabilia to display, please bring it along.

Volunteers are sought each year to help cook, serve or wash up at the breakfast.
